Immediate Solution: Hot Water and Vinegar
If there are already maggots in your trash can, you must act quickly.
Hot Water: Pour boiling water directly onto the maggots in the trash bag or empty trash can. The heat kills the maggots immediately.
Cleaning with Vinegar: After throwing away the trash, clean the container thoroughly with a mixture of hot water and vinegar. Vinegar has a disinfectant effect and eliminates any remaining germs and eggs. Its scent also repels flies.
