GINGERBREAD BALLS🍯

This is the real Christmas classic, the Gingerbread Ball! And the best thing: according to most recipes, it can be made without baking, which means you have the magic in 15 minutes.

Here is a simple and spicy recipe that is also perfect for recycling leftover Christmas gingerbread (or simple cookies).

🎄 Gingerbread Balls (No Baking)
I. Ingredients
Ingredient Quantity Note
Crushed biscuits (e.g. household) 25 dkg You can also use gingerbread!
Powdered sugar 10 dkg
Vanilla sugar 1 package
Unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tablespoons (sifted)
Gingerbread spice mix 2 teaspoons (sifted)
Rum 1 tablespoon Or rum flavor / orange juice

Margarine/Butter 12.5 dkg Room temperature, soft
Milk Approx. $0.5$ dl As much as the dough absorbs
For rolling Ground nuts, cocoa powder, or coconut flakes
II. Preparation
Mixing: In a large bowl, measure together the crushed biscuits, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, cocoa powder and gingerbread spice mix. Mix thoroughly.

Adding Flavors: Add the soft margarine/butter and rum (or rum flavor / orange juice). Start kneading.
Assembly: Gradually add the milk until you get a well-kneaded, soft, but not sticky mass. About $0.5$ dl should be enough.
Shaping: With wet hands (so it’s less sticky), shape it into walnut-sized balls.
Rolling: Roll the balls in any topping you like (ground walnuts, cocoa powder, coconut flakes, or the remaining crushed biscuits mixed with a little extra gingerbread spice).

Cooling: Place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour so that the margarine hardens and the balls become firmer.
Tip: If you have stray, hard Christmas gingerbread in the box, grind $10$ dkg of it and replace the biscuits with it! And instead of rum, a little apricot jam can also help achieve a real Christmas flavor.
