Homemade Green Miracle Tip for the Bathroom
This effective all-purpose cleaner made from natural ingredients removes limescale, soap scum and stubborn dirt without any chemical odor.
… Ingredients
250 ml white wine vinegar (higher acidity and cleaner than regular 8% vinegar, but that will work too)
250 ml water
2 tablespoons organic liquid dish soap or liquid castile soap
1 teaspoon essential oil (ideally peppermint, tea tree, or eucalyptus oil – they add a fresh scent, have antibacterial properties, and provide that signature “green” freshness)
Optional for color: 1–2 drops green food coloring (if you want your cleaner to be stylishly green)
Equipment:
Sprayer
Microfiber sponge or cloth
Instructions
Mixing: Mix vinegar and warm water in a measuring cup. Add dish soap and essential oil (optionally a drop of food coloring).
Finishing: Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and shake gently to combine the ingredients.
Application: Spray on faucets, sinks, showers, tiles and bathtubs.
Cleaning: Leave on for 1 to 2 minutes (5 minutes for stubborn stains), wipe with a sponge or cloth and rinse with warm water.
How it works: Vinegar dissolves limescale and other deposits, while dishwashing detergent removes grease and soap scum. The essential oil leaves a pleasant fragrance in the bathroom and masks the smell of vinegar.
