Here are the most effective and easiest methods to keep weeds under control permanently without having to spend hours weeding:

Weeding close to the roots (preferably in moist soil)
Timing: Ideally, pull weeds after watering or rain. The soil is soft at this time and the roots can be pulled out without tearing.

Technique: Grasp the plant right at the base of the root, close to the soil, and pull it up evenly.

Mulching trick (lack of light)
Apply a 5 to 10 cm thick layer of bark mulch, wood chips, grass clippings or straw to bare spots in your flower beds.

Without sunlight, seeds cannot germinate and the soil also stays moist longer.

Weed control fabric for new plantings
When creating a new flower bed or paving, lay a waterproof and airtight weed control fabric under the soil or gravel before planting.
