Do you know what these pieces of wood are? An old tool that was found in almost every household! (First comment)

This sounds like a typical clickbait headline on social networks! And the missing first comment keeps us guessing. 😉

On the Czech Internet, these traditional wooden treasures of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers are often hidden under similar headlines:

What could it be?

Washboard – A wooden frame with a corrugated surface (or sheet metal) on which laundry was scrubbed.

Laundry stamp – A wooden board with a handle that was used to tap and shake dirty laundry while washing in a stream or tub.

Butter churn – A wooden container with a stamp for making butter from cream.

Butter or Gingerbread Mold – Hand-carved wooden molds with floral or animal motifs.

Cabbage Press – Large wooden tool for pounding chopped cabbage into pumpkins or barrels. Wooden Spool or Loom – Tools for spinning and weaving (parts of a spinning wheel). Horseshoes – Wooden blocks that keep shoes in shape.

If you have a photo or description of these items (shape, grooves, size), let us know and we will solve the problem immediately, even without prior request!
