Big, juicy tomatoes – we’ve been using this fertilizer for years: the gardener’s secret!

This growing trick is one of the best-kept secrets of successful tomato growers. Forget expensive chemical products from the store – the best fertilizer for huge, sweet, and incredibly juicy tomatoes is most likely already in your kitchen.

This miracle cure is ordinary yeast, combined with a secret ingredient.

Why does yeast work so well for tomatoes?

Yeast is a single-celled fungus rich in B vitamins, minerals, active enzymes, and amino acids. When you use yeast on tomatoes:

Activates soil life: It stimulates beneficial bacteria in the soil that break down organic matter faster and make nutrients available to the roots. Significantly strengthens the root system: Stronger roots mean the plant can absorb much more water and nutrients, resulting in huge fruit. Increases resilience: Tomatoes are more vigorous, can better withstand drought stress, and are less susceptible to mold.

Recipe for Yeast Fertilizer

The preparation is very simple, but the correct ratio of yeast to water is important for optimal effectiveness.

You will need:

1 cube of fresh yeast (42 g) or 1 packet of dry yeast

1 tablespoon of sugar (sugar is important – it serves as fuel for the yeast’s immediate activation)

1 liter of warm water (it must not be hot, otherwise the yeast will die! The ideal temperature is 30–35 °C)

Preparation: Dissolve one tablespoon of sugar in warm water and crumble in one cube of yeast. Stir the mixture well and let it ferment for 2 to 3 hours in a warm place (it will begin to foam). Important: After fermentation, dilute the concentrate with 10 liters of standing water (ideally rainwater).
