General rules for correct filling:
The concept of “correctly filled” varies depending on what you are drinking:
Beer: Standardly poured “in moderation” (the liquid ends at the line) and there is a thick foam on top. For some styles (e.g. schnapps) the ratio is intentionally different.
Wine: A glass should never be filled to the brim. Red wine is usually filled 1/3 (the widest part of the glass), white wine 1/2 to allow the bouquet to stand out.
Sparkling wine/Champagne: Fill approximately 2/3 of a slender glass (flute).
Soft drinks/Water: The standard here is to fill approximately 1–2 cm below the rim so that the drink does not spill during handling.
