If they come out of the baseboard, they’re not “passing guests.” It means that:
The nest is inside: They’ve probably established their colony in the wall cavities, in the insulating polystyrene, or in the rotten wood behind the baseboard.
There’s an invisible highway: The baseboard is their “ring road.” They use it to move safely between rooms.
Silent Leaks: Their presence often indicates a small water leak or excessive humidity behind the wall, making the material soft and ideal for burrowing.
