Cleaning caked-on grease on the oven door can be a nightmare, but there’s a “miracle” trick that requires minimal effort and almost no chemicals.

Your best friend in this case is a regular dishwasher tablet.

Method: Dishwasher Tablet Trick
This method works because the tablets are designed to dissolve caked-on food residue and stubborn grease.

Prepare the tablet: Take a regular dishwasher tablet (not the gel capsule type).
Dip a corner: Briefly dip the end of the tablet in a bowl of warm water. Be careful not to soak it completely; it should remain firm.
Grease Remover: Use the tablet like an eraser. Gently run the flat side over the glass. You’ll see the caked-on grease begin to come off immediately.
Continue wetting: If the pad begins to rub, gently re-wet it.

Remove residue: Once the glass is clean, simply wipe it with a damp microfiber cloth and buff until completely dry.

Alternative: Homemade paste (if you don’t have a dishwasher)
If you prefer ingredients you already have in your pantry, rely on the tried-and-true combination of baking soda and vinegar.
Paste: Mix baking soda with a little water until you obtain a thick paste.
Application: Apply the paste to the glass and let it sit for at least 20-30 minutes (for more stubborn dirt, even overnight).

Reaction: Spray the paste onto the glass with vinegar from a spray bottle. The mixture will begin to foam and dissolve any remaining grime.
Cleaning: Simply wipe with a sponge.

Tip: If possible, easily remove the glass from the door (most modern ovens have side clips). Cleaning while lying down is much more comfortable than bending over.
