You don’t need a garden to harvest fresh tomatoes. You can grow small, space-saving mini tomato plants in empty plastic bottles – ideal for balconies, windowsills, or kitchens. Enjoy homegrown tomatoes all year round.

Ingredients:

Empty plastic bottles (1–2 liters)
Potting soil
Tomato seeds or seedlings
Water
Optional: Liquid fertilizer

Instructions:

Cut open a plastic bottle or remove the cap to create an open container.

Fill the bottom of the bottle about two-thirds full with soil.

Place the tomato seeds or seedlings in the soil.

Press the soil down lightly and water thoroughly.

Place the bottle in a bright, warm location.

Water regularly and fertilize lightly if needed.

Once the plant starts to grow, you can carefully cut a slit in the bottle or poke holes in the side to allow air and water to enter and promote root growth.

Tip: Place the bottles on a plate to catch excess water and use small trellises to support the plant’s growth.
