Ingredients
milk – 1.5 glasses
water – 1.5 glasses
sugar – 1 tablespoon
dried yeast – 1 teaspoon
baking soda – 1 teaspoon
salt – 1 teaspoon
plain flour – approx. 3.5 glasses
eggs – 1 pc
a bunch of fresh herbs
1 large red pepper
1 large tomato
1 potato
hard cheese – 150 g
vegetable oil for frying
Step-by-step preparation process
Beat the eggs in a bowl and add the dried yeast, salt and soda. Mix briefly with a whisk.
Add the lukewarm milk, water and sugar. Mix well to combine the ingredients.
Gradually add the flour and mix until a smooth dough without lumps is formed.
Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
In the meantime, grate the raw potato, pepper, tomato and herbs into small cubes. Grate the cheese coarsely.
Mix the vegetables and cheese into the risen dough.
Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan. Pour the batter with a ladle – the pancakes should be about 1 cm high.
Fry over medium heat for about 2 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms.
Prepare the rest of the dough in the same way.
Serving tip
These savory pancakes taste great on their own, but you can also add them with yogurt dip, sour cream or fresh vegetables. They are also great in a take-away box.
