A 5-minute recipe usually means that the preparation (mixing) takes that long, and the baking itself, of course, takes longer.
This recipe leads to an extremely quick and easy, mixed dough apple cake, which really takes no more than 5 minutes to prepare!
🍎 5-Minute Lightning Fast Apple Cake (Mixed Dough)
(For a $20 \times 30\, \text{cm}$ baking pan or a smaller round mold)
I. Ingredients
II. Preparation (Really Under 5 Minutes!)
- Preparation (2 minutes)
Turn on the oven: Preheat the oven to $180\, \text{°C}$ (bottom-top baking).
Lining the pan: Line a baking sheet/pan with parchment paper, or grease and flour it.
Apples: Peel and dice the apples (you can make this ahead of time if you’re pressed for time), then mix with the cinnamon. - Mix the batter (3 minutes)
Wet base: In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or wooden spoon to mix together the eggs, oil, milk, sugar, and vanilla sugar until the sugar is slightly dissolved.
Dry base: Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix the batter together, but only until the flour is just gone! Don’t overmix, or the batter will be chewy.
Adding the apples: By hand, gently mix half of the cinnamon-coated apple cubes into the batter. - Bake
Bake: Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle with remaining apple cubes.
Time: Bake for about $30-$35\, \text{minutes}$ ($35-45\, \text{minutes}$ for thicker batter), or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Serve: Let cool to lukewarm and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
