Kids love it! Take 1 egg, 2 apples and a little kefir: Pan-Fried Apple Snails

If you love quick and fragrant homemade desserts that don’t require an oven or complicated dough, then you’ll definitely love this recipe. These pan-fried apple snails are fluffy, fragrant and perfectly balanced – perfect for breakfast, a snack or an afternoon treat. Plus, they have such a delicious cinnamon and apple scent that you’ll fall asleep right after eating them!

🧺 Ingredients:

150 ml kefir (or natural yogurt)

1 egg

3 tablespoons sugar

½ teaspoon salt

330 g wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

2 apples (preferably sweet and juicy)

A little oil for frying

Optional: cinnamon, vanilla sugar, powdered sugar for sprinkling
👩‍🍳 Preparation:

1️⃣ Beat the eggs with the sugar and salt in a bowl until the sugar crystals dissolve.

2️⃣ Add the kefir and mix well.

3️⃣ Add the flour mixed with the baking powder and knead a soft, slightly sticky dough.

4️⃣ Cover with aluminum foil or a kitchen towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.

5️⃣ Meanwhile, peel the apples, remove their cores and dice them.

6️⃣ Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle on a floured rolling pin.

7️⃣ Evenly distribute the apples over the entire surface – you can sprinkle with a little cinnamon or vanilla sugar.

8️⃣ Shape the dough into a stick and cut into smaller pieces (about 2 cm wide).

9️⃣ Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the snails until golden brown on both sides.

🍯 To serve:
Sprinkle the still warm snails with powdered sugar – or make a yogurt sauce with a little honey and cinnamon.

The result? Soft, fragrant and slightly crunchy apple clusters, with the same taste as grandma’s.

Kids will love them – and adults too.

💡 Tip:

For a healthier alternative, use spelt flour and fry the snails in a ceramic pan. They are just as delicious, just a little lighter.
