🍏Walnut-apple cake with chocolate fondant

At the same time, it is surprisingly easy to prepare and anyone can do it.

🥣 Ingredients
For the dough:
3 large apples (coarsely grated)
2 eggs
150 g sugar
120 ml oil
200 g semi-coarse flour

1 baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
100 g ground or chopped walnuts
a pinch of salt
For the chocolate fondant:
120 g good-quality dark chocolate
80 g butter
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk
🥧 Preparation

Preparing the dough
Beat the eggs with the sugar until foamy.
Add the oil and mix again.
Stir in the grated apple.
Separately mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nuts.
Carefully fold the dry mixture into the apple mixture.
Pour onto a greased and lined baking sheet (or baking paper).
Bake the cake

Bake in a 170°C oven for approx. 30-35 minutes, until the top is lightly browned and a skewer comes out clean.
Make the chocolate fondant
Melt the butter with the chocolate in a saucepan over low heat.
Add the cocoa, sugar and milk.
Mix until you have a smooth, shiny glaze.
Finish

Pour the hot fondant onto the still warm cake, spread evenly and leave to dry.
🍽️ Extra tips
You can add a handful of raisins or blueberries.
The fondant will be extra soft if you use chocolate with at least 60% cocoa.
The cake is fantastic while still warm – a real luxury with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
