If you have a sweet tooth but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen, you’ll love these quick walnut rolls. They’re fluffy, fragrant, and perfectly crispy. You can make them with just a few common ingredients – and they still taste like real homemade bread.
They’re perfect with coffee, for a weekend breakfast, and as a quick dessert for guests. And the best part? They’re ready in half an hour!
Ingredients
For the dough:
500 g all-purpose flour
60 g sugar
1 cube of dry yeast
250 ml warm milk
80 g melted butter
For the walnut filling:
250 g ground walnuts
100 g sugar
2 packets of vanilla sugar
10 tablespoons fresh cream
Preparation method
- Prepare the dough
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, melted butter and crumble the yeast. Gradually add the warm milk and work the dough until you obtain a smooth and soft consistency. Let it rest for 10 minutes. - Prepare the filling
Mix the ground walnuts with the sugar, vanilla sugar and cream. You will obtain a thick but easy-to-spread mixture with a delicious aroma. - Shape the rolls
Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the walnut filling evenly. Next, roll tightly like a strudel and cut into slices with a sharp knife. - Baking
Transfer the rolls to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180°C (fan-fed) for about 15 minutes, until they begin to brown. - The final step to perfection
Sprinkle the rolls with powdered sugar while they are still warm. This will give them a beautiful shine and a sweet, delicate crust.
Extra tips
You can add a little cinnamon or rum to the filling for a festive aroma.
If you prefer a softer dough, add a tablespoon of heavy cream or a little more butter.
The rolls also taste great the next day – just reheat them briefly.
A fragrant treat you can bake anytime
Walnut rolls are the ideal treat when you want something quick, easy, and homemade. They will perfume the whole house while you prepare them and disappear from the table before you can even say “enjoy your meal”.
