It’s difficult to get extremely soft and smooth feet in exactly 10 minutes, as removing calluses usually requires some soaking time.
However, there’s a very quick and popular trick that softens the skin in a short time and makes it appear softer: the baking soda foot soak with an optional exfoliating step.
Quick 10-Minute Foot Soak for Soft Feet
This soak quickly softens the skin, and baking soda has a mild exfoliating and smoothing effect.
Ingredient Amount Purpose
Warm water: Approx. 3–4 liters (enough to cover the feet). Softens the skin and opens the pores.
Baking soda: 3 tablespoons (or 1 packet). Has an alkalizing effect, softens calluses, and neutralizes odors.
Optional: 2 tablespoons of sea salt. Supports cleansing and can serve as a light exfoliator.
Directions – How to use in 10 minutes:
Preparation (1 minute): Fill a bowl or tub with comfortably warm (not too hot) water. Stir in baking soda and, optionally, sea salt until dissolved.
Soak (5–7 minutes): Soak your feet in it. The warm, alkaline water will immediately begin to soften the top layer of skin.
Exfoliation (1–2 minutes): Remove your feet from the water briefly. If you have calluses, gently rub the affected areas with a pumice stone or foot file. Or: Gently rub your feet with the damp sea salt still in the water.
Dry & Care (1–2 minutes): Dry your feet thoroughly. Then massage in a rich moisturizer, coconut oil, or olive oil.
Tip: For the ultimate smoothing effect, put on thick cotton socks after applying the cream and let the care product absorb even longer (ideally overnight).
