Transform your ordinary canned biscuits into a delicious treat with these Garlic Cheese Bites! Each bite-sized pastry is stuffed with mozzarella cheese and baked until golden brown, then coated in a mouth-watering garlic butter white wine sauce. The result is a perfect combination of soft, fluffy dough and crunchy, melted cheese that’s sure to please everyone at the table.
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons olive oil 2 cans of buttermilk biscuits (not the flaky kind) 20 small balls of mozzarella cheese, such as Fresca Ciliegine cherry size, or mozzarella cut into cubes 6 cloves of garlic, minced pinch of crushed red pepper flakes ¼ cup white wine ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese salt and basil to taste ¼ teaspoon salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
- Flatten each biscuit from the cans.
- Drain the liquid from the mozzarella container and place a cheese ball or cube in the center of each flattened biscuit. Wrap the dough around the cheese to form a ball.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for a minute or two. Add the butter and stir until melted. Gradually pour in the white wine and season with salt. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Roll each dough ball in the garlic butter sauce, then place them open-side up in a mini muffin pan.
- Mix the shredded Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, then sprinkle a generous amount on top of each dough ball.
- Bake the cheese bites in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until they’re golden brown.
- Take the pan out of the oven and brush the bites with the remaining garlic butter sauce. Sprinkle with salt and basil to taste.
