INGREDIENTS  

  • Chilled cookies 1 to 8 pieces
  • 14 oz bag of thawed frozen Italian style meatballs
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil or chopped parsley (optional-for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray a large ovenproof skillet or 3-quart baking dish with nonstick spray. Put aside. Spray one side of a piece of aluminum foil with nonstick spray. Put aside.
  • Cut each cookie into eight pieces by removing the cookie dough from the box. Place in a greased skillet or baking dish.
  • Add marinara sauce, garlic powder and Italian seasoning on top. Thoroughly mix the seasonings into the sauce and coat the dough with the sauce.
  • Place the thawed meatballs on top of the dough. Sprinkle half the cheese on top. Cover skillet with foil, sprayed side down.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and add remaining cheese. Bake another 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Grill for a few seconds if desired.
