To ensure this test doesn’t disappoint, here are two true classics that put logic and lateral thinking (creativity) to the test:

Logic Test: The Two Guards. You are standing in front of two doors. One leads to freedom, the other to an abyss. Two guards stand before the doors: one always tells the truth, the other always lies. You don’t know which is which. You can ask exactly one question to one of the guards to find the way to freedom. What do you ask?

Solution: Ask either guard: “Which door would the other guard point to as the way to freedom?” Regardless of their nature, both will point to the door leading to the abyss. Simply choose the other door.
Creativity Test: The Elevator. A man lives on the 10th floor of a building. Every morning, he takes the elevator all the way down to work. In the evening, if it is raining or there are other people in the elevator, he rides it all the way up to the 10th floor. If the weather is nice and he is alone, he rides it only to the 7th floor and walks up the remaining three flights of stairs. Why?

Solution: The man is short in stature. Alone and without an aid (such as an umbrella when it rains), he simply cannot reach the button for the 10th floor. With a bit of lateral thinking, both riddles are solvable—and without any mysterious “99 percent” obstacle.
