    Cockroaches come primarily because of two things: food and moisture.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Dry up water sources: Cockroaches survive longer without food than without water. Fix dripping faucets, dry sinks at night, and don’t leave standing water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Seal food: Store supplies in tightly sealed glass or plastic containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Get rid of crumbs and trash: Vacuum thoroughly (especially behind the refrigerator and stove) and empty the trash daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Effective Home Remedies (Cheap & Easy)
      Baking Soda and Sugar (1:1)
      Mix equal parts baking soda (or baking powder) and powdered sugar. The sugar attracts the cockroaches, while the baking soda produces gases in the pests’ digestive tract that they cannot excrete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      DIY Glass Trap
      Take an empty jam jar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Fill the bottom with some sugar water, rolled oats, or a piece of banana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Grease the inside of the upper rim of the jar thoroughly with cooking oil or petroleum jelly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The cockroaches will climb in, but they won’t be able to get out again because of the smooth, greasy walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Repelling Scents
      Cockroaches hate certain strong smells. Pure peppermint oil, bay leaves, or cleaning their trails with vinegar water will deter them and disrupt their scent trails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Important: Home remedies are primarily effective against individual pests or for prevention. In cases of severe infestation, only professionally applied gel baits (containing poison) or a pest control service can provide lasting results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
