When making marmalade or jelly, place 5\u201310 seeds in a tea bag or cloth bag and cook it along with the jam or jelly. The released pectin helps the mixture set without any artificial gelling sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grow your own lemon tree: Thoroughly remove the pulp from the seeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">carefully peel off the outer skin and place them in moist potting soil. After 2\u20133 weeks, pretty, pleasantly fragrant houseplants will sprout on your windowsill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compost &amp; Plant Fertilizer: Crushed or added to the compost, the seeds decompose well and enrich the soil with nutrients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caution when consuming lemon seeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Juice becomes bitter: Seeds contain pronounced bitter compounds (such as limonin). If the seeds are blended along with the juice, the lemon juice quickly takes on a very bitter taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not a superfood substitute: Even though lemon seeds contain small amounts of antioxidants, they taste unpalatable raw and offer no real health benefit compared to fruit juice when eaten directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, these little seeds are actually worthwhile as a natural source of pectin when making jam or as free seeds.
