What can I do to fix the problem quickly?

Ice buildup on the back is usually caused by excessive humidity inside the refrigerator or a faulty seal.

Quick Fixes

Check the seal: Insert a piece of paper into the refrigerator door. If it can be easily pulled out when the door is closed, the seal is not tight. Cleaning with warm water will help; damaged rubber seals need to be replaced.

Clean the drain hole: The small drain channel at the bottom of the back wall can easily become clogged. Carefully clean the hole with a cotton swab or the plastic plunger provided to allow the condensation to drain.

Set the temperature: Set the thermostat to a medium temperature (ideally 5 to 7°C or setting 2 to 3 for the rotary knobs). Excessive cooling promotes ice formation.

Ensure proper air circulation: Food should not be in direct contact with the back wall. Maintain a gap of at least 2-3 cm to allow air circulation.

Avoid hot food: Always let food cool completely to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator.

If the layer of ice is already very thick, switch off the appliance for 24 hours to allow it to defrost completely. If the problem persists, the thermostat or the No-Frost heating element is usually faulty.

Ice buildup on the back is usually caused by excessive humidity inside the refrigerator or a faulty seal.
