Cucumbers have two distinct life stages, each requiring different nutrients. The ultimate “secret tip” is therefore a combination of classic organic fertilizers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the initial growth phase (growth & foliage): Compost & Horse Manure. Cucumbers love humus. When planting, mix plenty of mature compost or pelleted horse manure into the garden bed. This provides ample nitrogen for strong shoots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For harvesting (blossoms & fruit): Nettle-comfrey manure. Once the cucumber plant flowers, it needs less nitrogen but plenty of potassium. A potassium-rich fertilizer ensures crisp, juicy fruit and strengthens the plant against diseases.
