Here’s how it’s done (without a calculator and with a cool head): Multiplication and division take precedence: First, we solve these two operations in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
$7 \\div 7 = \\mathbf{1}$
$7 \\times 7 = \\mathbf{49}$ Now we put the results together: We write them back in the row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7 + 1 + 49 \u2013 7
Addition and subtraction from left to right:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7 + 1 = 8<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8 + 49 = 57<\/p>\n\n\n\n
57 \u2013 7 = 50
The result is 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
