Hairdryer trick: If you want to speed up defrosting, don’t use a hairdryer (hot air can damage plastic parts). Instead, place a pot of hot (not boiling) water in the freezer and close the door. The steam will do the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Glycerin trick: After cleaning and drying the freezer, rub a thin layer of glycerin or vegetable oil on the walls. Future frost won’t stick as much and can be easily peeled off by hand the next time you clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leakage test: Place a sheet of paper between the door and the freezer and close both. If the paper can be easily pulled out, the seal isn’t tight, humid air is getting in, and the freezer will ice up heavily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
