My guests love it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Mac and Cheese is rich and flavorful. I like to serve it with simple and light sides.&nbsp;A salad, green beans, roasted asparagus, and roasted tomatoes are all great accompaniments.<br>Enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 lb.&nbsp;elbow macaroni<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1\/2 cup unsalted butter divided<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1\/2 cup flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3 cups whole milk, room temp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 cup heavy cream, room temp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 cups grated Gruyere cheese<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salt to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fresh ground pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 1\/2 lb.&nbsp;A mixture&nbsp;of crab, lobster, and shrimp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 cup panko breadcrumbs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use cooking spray to coat a 2-quart baking pan. Butter can also be used to lightly coat the dish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow the instructions on the package to cook the pasta until it is al dente.&nbsp;Drain the pasta, rinse it with cool water, and then set it aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to Make the roux<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Melt 6 Tbsp.&nbsp;Place 6 Tbsp. butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mix the flour with the water and continue to whisk until well combined. This should take about 30 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slowly add the milk, and cream, and whisk constantly until smooth.&nbsp;Reduce heat to low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How to make the Cheese Sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mix the shredded cheeses one at a time into the roux. Stir to combine between each addition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salt and pepper to your liking<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turn off the heat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here is how to Bake the Mac and Cheese<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mix the seafood and cooked pasta together in the cheese sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place the mixture in the prepared baking dish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The remaining 2 Tbsp. butter, melt it.&nbsp;Mix the butter with the panko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sprinkle the cheese on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bake for 30 minutes or until the seafood mac cheese is hot through and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Serve immediately<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For Cheese<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 I recommend using Gruyere with cheddar to get the best flavor.&nbsp;Fontina can be used as a substitute because it melts well.&nbsp;You should make sure that the substitute cheese is good melting cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For Panko Topping,<\/strong>&nbsp;You can add shredded Parmesan or Cheddar to your panko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Freezing:<\/strong>&nbsp;If you freeze anything with milk, there may be separation which can alter the texture.&nbsp;Cut the Mac and Cheese into small pieces, wrap with plastic wrap, and store in an airtight container or bag.&nbsp;It is best to place the Mac and Cheese in the fridge overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Heating:<\/strong>&nbsp;In the oven is the best way to warm up the Mac and Cheese.&nbsp;Pre-heat oven to 300\u00b0F. Place Mac and Cheese in a baking pan and cover with foil.
