You can harvest your rosemary from your garden or find it fresh at markets.
1 1/2 cups (360ml) carrier oil – Extra virgin olive oil is an excellent choice for its quality and added benefits. Sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, or sunflower oil (locally available in Ternopil) are also good options. ¼ to ⅓ cup (25-35g) beeswax tablets or grated – The amount will depend on the desired consistency (¼ cup for a softer salve, ⅓ cup for a firmer one). You can find it at craft stores, health food stores, or online.
10-20 drops rosemary essential oil (Optional, but enhances the effect. Make sure it is pure and therapeutic-grade).
5-10 drops lavender essential oil (Optional, for a calming and aromatic effect).
Utensils:

Small saucepan or heatproof container for a double boiler.
Cheesecloth (fine cheesecloth) or coffee filter.
Sterilized glass jars with lids (small mason jars or lip balm containers are ideal).
Labels.
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1: Infuse the Oil with Rosemary (Hot Method – Faster)
Prepare the Rosemary: Wash the fresh rosemary leaves and dry them thoroughly with a kitchen towel. It’s crucial that there is no water left, as water can ruin the salve. If using dried rosemary, skip this drying step.
Mix Oil and Rosemary: In a small saucepan or heatproof glass container (for use in a double boiler), combine the carrier oil and rosemary leaves.

Heat in a Double Boiler: Place this saucepan inside a larger saucepan filled with about 1-1/2 inches of water. Heat over medium-low heat. The goal is to gently heat the oil so that the rosemary properties infuse without frying the leaves.
Slow Infusion: Let the oil heat in a double boiler for 2 to 4 hours. Stir occasionally. The oil should be warm to the touch, but not boiling. You may notice the rosemary scent becoming more prominent.
Alternative (Cold Method – Slower): If you have more time, you can combine the oil and rosemary in a glass jar, seal it, and let it infuse in a sunny spot for 2-4 weeks, shaking daily.
Step 2: Strain the Infused Oil

After the infusion time, remove the pot from the heat.
Place the cheesecloth (double layer) or coffee filter over a clean bowl.
Carefully pour the infused oil through the cheesecloth/filter to separate the rosemary leaves. Squeeze the leaves well to extract all the valuable oil. Discard the used leaves.
Step 3: Add the Beeswax
Return the clean infused oil to the pot (or double boiler).
Add the grated or pelleted beeswax to the hot oil.
Continue heating in a double boiler, stirring occasionally, until the beeswax is completely melted and blended with the oil.

Step 4: Add Essential Oils (Optional) and Bottle
Remove the pan from the heat.
Let the mixture cool slightly, but still liquid. If using, add the drops of rosemary and lavender essential oils. Stir well to incorporate them evenly.
Immediately pour the liquid mixture into sterilized glass jars (make sure they are clean and dry). The mixture will solidify quickly as it cools.
Leave the jars uncovered to cool and solidify completely (this may take a few hours). Once solid, replace the lids.
Step 5: Labeling and Storage
Label the jars with the name of the ointment and the date of manufacture.
Store the ointment in a cool, dark, and dry place. It should last at least 6 months to 1 year, depending on the freshness of the oils used.

How to Use the Ointment:
For Varicose Veins: Apply a small amount of the ointment to the affected areas and massage gently in upward motions, toward the heart. Rosemary helps stimulate circulation.
For Arthritis and Muscle Pain: Massage a small amount directly onto the painful area. Rosemary’s anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties can provide relief.
Important: Although natural, it is always a good idea to perform a patch test on a small area of skin before using it on a large area to ensure there are no allergic reactions. If the condition persists or worsens, seek medical advice.

Natural Rosemary Ointment for Varicose Veins, Arthritis, and Muscle Pain 🌿💧💪This ointment combines the power of rosemary with nourishing oils and wax for easy application and effective absorption.
