Leave the tape at home. Speaking with RSVP Live, John revealed that tying identification tapes to your luggage can cause delays, meaning your items might not make it onto your flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe tapes that people attach to their bags to help identify them can cause problems when scanning luggage at the check-in hall,\u201d John told the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If a bag can\u2019t be scanned automatically, it may be subject to manual processing, meaning it might not be loaded onto your flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Checking your bag without any identifying materials, such as tapes and old travel stickers, increases the chances of a smooth arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John suggests: \u201cRemove old stickers from your bag; they can cause confusion during the scanning process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another thing that could cause problems with your luggage is marzipan, a delicious almond confection, and John warns that you could be checked by security if you bring it on vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNever carry marzipan in your luggage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has the same density as some explosives, so your suitcase will be confiscated and you will be asked to leave the plane for inspection,\u201d warned a Dublin luggage expert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, before sending your luggage through the small conveyor belt to workers like John, make sure it is facing up to avoid damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No More Basic Luggage. Luggage has evolved significantly in recent decades, and it is no longer necessary to carry simple black, brown, or navy suitcases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Travel & Leisure, black luggage \u201cis one of the most versatile colors (if not the most), which is why it is so popular.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The publication writes: \u201cSo, if you want your luggage to stand out on the carousel, it’s worth choosing a different shade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead, consider buying a suitcase with a pattern or perhaps a bright color, like hot pink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And if you’re not a fan of pink, you can find luggage in many bright, eye-catching colors that will make your items stand out from the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Or if you’re not ready to part with your current containers, consider using fabric paint or stickers to add identifying features that won’t interfere with scanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
